Are you interested in what it means to become a Christian? I would like to share with you that it is the most fulfilling and life-changing experience a person could have. Jesus Christ has given me strength, direction and true joy in life and I hope you will experience the same and more for yourself.
In order to have a personal relationship with Jesus, it is first necessary to understand that everyone has something in their life that needs to be taken care of and that is sin. The Bible states in Romans 3:23, "for all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God". It is clear that even though we try, we cannot do enough 'good things' to earn God's favor, we must realize and accept the fact that we have sinned and that our sin needs to be forgiven by Jesus.

The good news is that Jesus wants to forgive you and I of our sin, in fact He showed the world that when He went to the cross and died. "God showed His love for us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us", Romans 5:8. God said that it would be acceptable for Jesus to die for the sins of mankind once and for all. Jesus was willing to do this because of His great love for each and every person.

In order to become a Christian, the Bible says that you and I must be willing to say that Jesus is Lord, believe it in our heart, and believe that God raised Jesus from the dead according to Romans 10:9-10. When we believe, and confess our sin to Jesus, asking Him to forgive us of our sin, then we are born again in our heart. God takes our heart and begins to make it like His, new, fresh and forgiven. The Bible say we are a 'new creature' at that point and the old has passed away and all things become new, II Corinthians 5:17.

If you would like to become a Christian today, there is no better time than right now. Think about your decision, because it will change your life for the better if you are willing to follow Jesus and the Bible. If you are ready today then pray a prayer like this out loud to Jesus:

Dear Jesus, I know that you died for my sins please forgive me of all my sins.
Come into my heart be my Lord and Savior, I accept your forgiveness.
Make me a new person today.
Amen.
